    A comfy retreat for layovers

    The lobby welcomed us with elegance, and the delicious lunch buffet was a good surprise, even during Ramadan! Our room was spacious and offered fine views of the city.

    We did experience a slow check-in process, somewhat frustrating after a long flight. I found the breakfast options limited in variety, but the quality was decent.

    Do not go to the concorde hotel! I have had a really bad experience with the Concorde Hotel. On the 11 of June there was a fire on the 7th floor, however smoke detectors failed and the alarm system didn’t work. On top of this, all staff left the building as soon as they realised there was smoke, there was no fire officer and basically you were left in your room with no warning of a fire at all. When I left my room at 0715 am the entire floor was already filled with smoke, I had to escape via the fire exists, smoke was everywhere, no alarms, no hotel staff nothing! Quite terrifying. What really shocked me is that no-one of the personnel seemed to care; they were all standing outside. They didn’t seem to think it was dangerous that the alarm system didn’t work and they didn’t feel any obligation what so ever to try and warn hotel customers, luckily nobody got seriously injured, but it could have ended up so different. I have tried to contact Concorde Hotel management; I wrote them that they should at least check all Alarms of all Concorde hotels and have a fire test/drill, no response! If the attitude of the Concorde Hotels towards safety is basically non-existent, and Concorde Hotels doesn’t even recognise the severity of the situation I am never going back to any Concorde hotel in my life and I will suggest this to anyone I will ever speak to, I really hope you all do the same, this is asking for a large scale accident to happen!
